Yes, it was THE beach read of the summer of 2026 and YES had I enjoyed every minute of this "pretend" romance as it turned truer and truer. Well-written with a heroine you will cheer for all the way to the very happy ending.
This Tender Land
by William Kent Krueger
In my top 10 favorite books of all-time. This bighearted story of four orphans searching for a place to call home during the Great Depression absolutely gave me the courage to write my own coming of age road trip novel—Sequoyah Road.
Palms on the Cape
by Jenn Bouchard
I picked up this charming novel after meeting Jenn at the Black Rose Writing AuthorFest in Nashville. I loved the friends-to-lovers plot line and all the delicious food in this story set at a restaurant on Cape Cod.
A Gentleman in Moscow
by Amor Towles
Another one of my top 10 reads of all-time. I'm a big Amor Towles fan, but this story of Count Alexander Rostov sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol Hotel during the Bolshevik revolution is a masterpiece.
